				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A fantastic time was had by all who attended the 5th annual Cairns Blues Festival held on 11 May at the Fitzroy Island Resort.  Organisers would like to thank everyone who braved the weather and came out to play, and especially those who travelled for miles and miles to get there!  They would also like to thank all of the artists who provided spectacular entertainment from start to finish!  Thanks also goes out to <em>Fitzroy Island Resort</em> management and staff for providing a magic venue, and top notch North Queensland hospitality.  All sponsors and supporters of the festival are to be thanked for their fantastic support, and encouragement.  Once again the festival had a great crew of volunteers, and we thank them for their time, their smiles and their enthusiasm.   Without the support, encouragement and participation of all of those above &#8211; the Cairns Blues Festival wouldn&#8217;t be!</p>

<p>Once again, a great night was had by all!  Our hats off to all of the bands who came and entertained us, donating their time and talent to support the annual Cairns Blues Festival.  Big THANKS to <em><strong>Eddie Skiba and The Durand Line</strong></em>, <em><strong>Lindsay Boyd &amp; The Taste</strong></em>, and <strong><em>KABOOM</em></strong>!  Special thanks also to Jim Cadman who did a terrific job teching on the night. Sheila from the Machans Beach P&amp;C did a great job in the kitchen, on her <em>Pat Malone</em>, thank you. <p>Thank you to everyone who turned out on Saturday 17 to make the Rockabilly Blues night the great success that it was!  Thanks to all the musicians who shook the floor boards and had the crowd up and boogying all night long &#8211; you made our night, thank you.  And thanks to the audience &#8211; who came from far and wide &#8211; for your enthusiasm, your support, and your fine dancing moves &#8211; where would be without the dancers?  Thanks to Diane and Shakti for supplying us with delicious food.  Thanks to the Machans Beach community for welcoming us into your neck of the woods. Thanks to Cairns FM, Coast FM and to ABC Far North for your continuing support.  And finally thanks to the volunteers who give their time freely every time, and who make these events possible, and help to keep the blues alive in FNQ!</p>

<p>Cairns Blues Festival needs you.  A very small band of volunteers keep this event alive.  As well as running a raffle every Sunday at the Red Beret Hotel for the past 4 years, we now run 2 every Sunday at the Trinity Beach Hotel, and 1 at The Pier on Friday afternoons.  If you would like to donate a small or large amount of your time please email Pauline at info@cairnsbluesfestival.com.au or Kitty at finance@cairnsbluesfestival.com.au</p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><strong>AGM</strong></span></p>
